Ricks 13

Every now and again something comes along that makes you green with envy. You know what I mean, it could be your mates new girlfriend, a work colleagues new car a rivals promotion etc etc. This doesn't happen to me too often. I'm a happy guy, I have a fine woman at my side, a nice house, nice car, good job and a very nice 13. But...

Along comes a new club member, nothing unusual about that, that's what the club is about. You see he's got a 13, not just any old 13 but he's got the best damned 13 I've ever laid my eyes on. So you see I'm a little green to say the least.

I've never refussed a Z1300 owner membership of the club. But had I seen this guy's bike first I may just have had too. Right who is he? Goddam you've just loaded the page his name is at the top. He's Rick from Cambridge. Now Cambridge is somewhere I've never been nor now do I ever wish to go there for fear of what I might do to own this machine.

Less of the green eyed monster and more about the 13 I hear you say.

Okay here goes...

In the words of Rick.

Shocks - Fournales
Tank and dash - Harley but had to cut and weld to shape of bike. Middle strip, stainless steel.

Rear mud guard - Harley

Rear tyre - Bridgestone 180/55ZR17 Battla X BT020
Rim from ZR6 welded to original spokes
solo seat but looks crap so will need to rethink.

Front mud guard - pattern sports bike
Slab yoke - bespoke from Motorcycle Revolution before they went bust
Twin headlights - custom magazine

Stainless steel race cans - bespoke - Motorcycle Revolutions

Engine requires polishing but couldn't afford it this time round so just left bare alley at moment.

Plan is to fit new front forks with wider tyre but this is definitely for the future.

Apart from the rim, all work carried out by myself and a friend who sorted the electrics for me and carried out the welding.

I don't often feel like this about anyone else's machine but to me, and I know this 13 will not be everyone's cup of tea but to me this is the most awesome 13 I've seen.
