Russ Ps 13

Right then. A brief history (well, as close as I can get anyway) of the bike we now own.
About two years ago, my wife (Rosalind, yes the same one, lol) and I were on our way home from work in Leeds, and were heading down the hill into our village when a large 'bike shot past us. Of course, I knew what it was immediately, but Rosalind had never seen a standard(ish) Z1300 before, so I gave chase. The said "chase" lasted all of 15 seconds, because someone was digging the bloody road up AGAIN!!.
But the chap had to pull up at the traffic lights, so I seized my chance. I jumped out of the car and ran over to the bike, tapped the guy (who almost jumped out of his skin) on the shoulder, who promptly said "are you a f**^in' copper?. To which I duly replied "no".
I aksed the chap if he'd mind pulling over at the next left turn, and he said he would (one would assume he was more than curious to find out just what this bloody nutter in the car behind him wanted). When he pulled over, I explained  to him that Rosalind had never actually seen a Z13 in the flesh before, and that I'd been trying (unsuccessfully may I add) to wangle my way into getting one.
The next question I asked was the million dollar one, was he floggin' it?. He said no surprisingly enough, but he took our number because a mate of his had an American import that he may just part with. This was three years ago, and a little drawn out, so I'll miss the middle bit and move on to tuesday this week (ending 13/04/02).

I'd forgotten all about the bike (well, you all know how the story goes), until  I called in at a local dealers. We got talking, and he said he knew a guy with an American import who may be floggin' it( are we seeing a pattern here?), and asked me to ring him the next day.
So guess what?. I rang him and asked if he'd seen this chap?. He said "I've gone one better. I've got the bike at the other shop if you want to go look at it?". It must have taken me all of twenty seconds to turn the car around and get to the shop.
When I got there I was ushered into the back room of the shop where the bike was standing, covered in dust (I did say there was a gap of three years here, so keep up!, lol). The battery was shagged (am I allowed to say that?) so I couldn't hear it running, but it was in far better condition than I'd imagined, so I asked him if he could get it running for me?. He replied "ring us back at around 4.30, and if I get a chance I'll have a go".

So, 4.30 came, so I rang with dithering digits and asked if he'd got it running?. To which he replied "WHAT!". I was a little disturbed by this and asked again, to which the reply was "SORRY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU FOR THIS BLOODY NOISY 1300 THING!!!!.
Hoorah!!! I thought. Could you get it MOT'd I asked?. I was asked when I'd like to pick it up? (daft question really, everyone knew I wanted it yesterday!). He said he could have it ready for tomorrow, was that OK? (second daft question in almost as many seconds). And the rest they say, is history !.
You'll all have to watch this space though, as some serious customising is heading to a computer screen near you soon!!!( well maybe if I can keep my arse of it long enough!, lmao). Thanks for listening to my drivel, and I'll keep you all posted about the progress of the project.
Oh yes. Before I forget. Did I mention that Rosalind Bought me the bike for my 40th birthday (it's actually on August 14th, but you've got to strike while the iron is still hot, haven't you?) ?. No?. Well she did, so there. WHAT A WOMAN!!!!!!!. :-)))

PHEW!!!. There y'go Dread. And that's the short version, lol. I'll have to send the pic's one at a time I think, because I'm still trying to get the hang of this 'ere digital camera & I don't know what size the files are. I hope that's OK?.
       Cheers mate.
          All the very best!.
             Russ & Rosalind.

Okay round two with Russ's 13, the bike has  been tastefully resprayed (Just taking my tongue out of my cheek) in PINK i know I don't need to point this out coz it's right here for you to see.

No this is not a dream this 13 is PINK, I'm not saying anythings wrong with Pink, I mean hey pinks an attractive pop singer.

About this 13, the tank is PINK, the mudguard is PINK, the side panels are Pink and You've guessed it the tail piece is PINK.

So here we have Russ's PINK 13 which when all said and done has tickled me PINK. It just amazes me how after all this time you guy's can come up with something that surprises me.
