Some of you, well the first 30 of you to join way beck in 2002 may remember this run being suggested by at that point a non member called Pete Dicks. Pete a massive 13 fan a mine of information invited us to stay at his gaff. (He has a massive garden with room enough for everyone to camp) However this all fell through with confusion over dates and Pete going into hospital. After he came out of hospital he joined the club and we had a laugh about the whole thing.

Earlier this year I mentioned this run as the "Pete Dicks don't piss on me pampas run" coz we where all invited to stay at his gaff again. Hmm been down this road before... This time to get out out of us wrecking his joint (Having already used the in hospital card) he sold up and emigrated. I am hoping that due to the double failure of him hosting our south coast meet he'll make everything better by inviting us over to Spain for a rally at his villa. So Pete if you read this you owe the club big style now, how about it?

The ride down to the south coast was a blistering hot day, the type of day you should have been laying in the back garden drinking oceans of cool smooth Cafferys. Not sat across a six cylinder radiator wearing tight hot leathers. We arrived at the south coast to a friendly welcoming committee.

The reason for us being stopped was that Pete a fellow 13 owner who had decided to make the long haul from Manchester on one of his other bikes had an illegal plate. In fact a very illegal plate.

Luckily Pete is a polite person (Unlike big gob me) and the boy's in blue let him off with a talking too.  We then went in search of a B+B but everywhere was full, in desperation we stopped at a pub in New Milton The Wheat sheaf. The bar maid was a biker and she convinced her boss to put us up. Ta for that. We got bladdered and ended up at a private party thanks to Big Pete the only black guy in the village. After the most uncomfortable night I've every had we headed for the beach...Very nice.

Okay okay enough of the holiday snaps I hear you say. I know it's a bike site but I have to fill it out a little bit. The staged looking photo of Linda flat on her face wasn't staged, she scratched her helmet up quite badly when she fell.

Okay here's the bikes, it was great to see faces that I never met. Thanks for coming out I know we bowled a lot of the other owners over as they had never see so many 13's in one place. A big thank you to everyone who came up and said they liked our bikes. I get a great satisfaction from seeing club members  meet up and get to swap stories and information about 13's.

By the end of the day and after so many miles covered, some of us felt the pace...
