The Classic Motorcycles Mechanics Show

Stafford County Showground

Stafford.

This year we really wanted to put on a good show, so after much thought we came up with a few good ideas as to how to make the stand more interesting. So at this point I have to say thanks to Rennie for coming up with the idea of having two bikes facing each other on ramps. The next bit was the hard part:- building ramps to take a 13. Me not being good with wood called on help from fellow member Pete, Pete and Linda kindly came down to Nottingham and helped build the ramps. (Thanks you guy's, we couldn't have done it without you)

Above is a set of pictures taken just as we finished setting up. I got to tall you just how nervous Dave was about his 13 sitting on the ramp. Dave's is the green 13 on the right, he hummed and harred for many a long minute until he decided to brave it. The end result was cool though, giving the public a different angle to look at the bikes. Phil's 13 on the left wasn't quite as much a worry as Phil had already had a mishap getting his bike out of the van. (Damn)

This is Julies 13, Yep I did say Julie, Julie is one of few female members of the club. She was worried that her machine wasn't good enough for the stand but I think looks in great condition and was photographed by loads of people.

Above if Pete's Lawson, some of you may remember it as a past cybershow winner. It does look as good in the flesh as in cyber space!

Finally I managed to get a Voyager to the show. This is Steve and Dee's baby, don't expect it to look like this next time you see though. Steve's got ideas of changing the whole look of the bike.

Above is Mark Lee's Hammerstien. This machine has won several best of shows at rallies all over the country and even a best of show at a 13 rally in Holland. Mark went on to win our "Doug Hacking" best on the stand trophy. Below is the photo of Mark receiving the trophy.

The set above is of Damians Turbo 13 from Ireland, The amazing thing about this bike is that he's done it all himself and the more times you look at the bike you spot something you missed last time. It's a turbo, it's been monoshocked, the rear wheel is wide 180 ish, the front rack has been altered, the tank has a aircraft filler, the front brakes are multi piston. It just goes on and on. Damian has plans for the bike though.... he won't say what he's doing next (In case Phil does it first) But I'm sure it'll be good.

Here's a picture of some of us at the pub at night.

These pictures show just how popular our stand was.

Every year the club stands have to vote for their favorite other  club stand, above was my vote. The Suzuki owners club.

This last set are a bunch of pictures taken from all around the show. Just to show there's no favoritism here there's even a picture or two of a CBX.
