Stafford 2006

The Classic Motorcycles Mechanics Show

Stafford County Showground

Stafford.

This years exhibitors, from the right Paul, Dread, Kip, Damian and Dave. If you look below we did have five bike to start with but Six Pack was sold and the new owner wanted to take it before the show finished...so he did.

The show and stand where really busy this year, I guess as we all have our mid life crisis's we want the bikes from our youth.

The show has a couple of different aspects to it...

1st It's a bike show with prizes for the best bikes.

2nd It's an auto jumble. Cool place to buy bargains and spares. (No 13 stuff this year though.)

3rd It's a competition for the best stand.

Below are are a couple of good ones.

Our bikes.....Starting with Daves. It was the first time we'd met Dave and his 13, he was a breath of fresh air to the stand, full of enthusiasm and wit. On the Saturday afternoon his crazy brother Simon arrived. I owe Simon a massive thankyou for a gem of information that I will always remember. I feel every 13 rider must know this fact as well, coz I'm sure one day it could be invaluable...."You can't eat a polar bears liver as it poisonous to humans and will kill you if you do???????????????" After a few beers (How many you ask) this piece of trivia was bestowed upon us and I'm sure one day when I'm on who want's to be a millionaire I'll thank Simon for giving me the answer to the million pound question.

Dave talking to the press, I hope he didn't mention Polar bears.

Simon (right) and Dave left. Oh I forgot Simon rides a Triumph which probably explains a lot.

Next we've got Kips machine which the visitors to the stand voted as best on stand. (The git ain't coming again.)

Here's Kip helping out at the stand. (Note the supertwins tee shirt on a 13 stand?)

Paul brought down "six pack" from Scotland but he didn't take it back. He sold it and now is 13 less.

Here's Paul.

Damian, Mags and Kevin came all the way from Ireland with his Turbo Lawson 13.

Some plumbing here.

Meet Kevin who has his own motorbike now as Damian and Mags bought him one at Stafford.

Damian explains the benefits of six cylinders to a member of the Z1 club.

Then lastly the launch of the Dreadnaught.

What can I say the rebuild took a while the paint took even longer but the bottom line is I'm a happy bunny. The bikes running great the Wiseco big bore is delivering great even power throughout the range. I'm ready for doin' some miles next year.

Me in the new club tee shirt.

I have to say a massive thankyou to my wife Sandra for her continued support of me and my passion for bikes and for putting up with nights when I'm attached to the keyboard doing club stuff and for freezing at the shows I couldn't do it all without your help.

Here's some great pictures from the show a lot of credit for the quality and quantity of pictures goes to Sandra and also Mags both of which have put my efforts to shame. I'll be ready for the photo challenge next year.

I took these few of a nice CBX. Well there had to be one somewhere didn't there?

See you next year.
