Matlock bath

On the A6 between Matlock and Belper.
This is a Sunday venue.
There is loads to do, plenty of cafe's, bars, chip shops arcades and loads of shops. Plus it is a beautiful village set in the Derbyshire countryside. And there are bikes more bikes and even more bikes.

As you can see this is a very popular destination and has been for as long as I can remember. There tends to be lots of the plastic fantastic type bikes but there are a few unusual machines if you look for them. I mean just imagine 10 blades 15 ZZR'S and half a dozen R1's with a Z1300 parked in the middle ? It happens.

I was very unlucky when I visited Matlock Bath to take these pictures. I don't often go to Matlock because I'm not a fan plastic (I'm a chrome an polished alloy man) I don't want to offend anyone in saying that coz many a biker would turn their nose up at my old tractor. But at the end of the day we all are bikers with the same common cause to "ride free". Why was I unlucky ? 200 yards outside Matlock Bath I was pulled by a very polite and friendly Policeman.

I asked "To what do I owe this pleasure ?" coz I knew I wasn't speeding "The illegal number plate" he replied. Then I asked "Haven't you got anything better to do ?" This was a dumb move please learn from this stupidity "Yes I will check your exhaust as well!" The moral of the story is don't get cocky just let the guy do his job even if you think you are being victimized, prejudiced or just inconvenienced.

As it happens this policeman was an okay guy who was very open about the remit he and his buddies had been given:- clear up the A6. But I only saw bikers stopped so how this could be clearing up the A6 I don't know. May be there was an escaped criminal known to be on a bike in the area ?

Don't let my moaning put you off. Ride sensibly on a legal machine and you'll have a top day out.

As you can see there is quite a variety of metal along the front.
