Rock and Blues 2007

The Location: - Pentrich Showground, Pentrich, Nr Ripley, Derbyshire.

The Organisers: - Outlaws MC Derbyshire Chapter.

Okay Rock and Blue 2007 this was the year of the floods and it rained for months... The week leading up to the show the heavens opened and it never stopped on Thursday when we arrived it was a mud bath. The Outlaws had made it public that this year there was limited camping and parking so we guessed it was bad. We'd been on years when we thought it was bad but there'd been no warnings so this year must be bad. And it was. My 13 sank to below the wheel rim as I rode it in which made it fun. Trial riding on a 13.  Friday the weather got much better and the sun shone all day and remarkably dried it out loads.

I have to say a massive thank you to the Outlaw who fought to keep the show on as it should have been cancelled but they worked hard and rearranged the site making it possible for us to have a great time well done lads. We appreciate it.

I guess I should talk about the bands before I go to the bikes. Friday night missed the early bands sorry guys but we had Saor Patrol again I think that's 3 years on the trot now. I missed the Animal but everyone was saying how good they were. Then it was the Pat Savage Band who weren't my cup of tea so we had a walk around. The Levellers headlined so we went back to the tent as I don't like them and they seem to be on nearly every year. So I guess Friday for was a bad night musically. But Saturday now that was a different thing. The Handsome Beasts were fantastic and made it hard for anyone to follow. I have to admit to missing GMT sorry they might have been good? Then came Michael Schenker who I was really looking forward too. Oh well I got that one wrong. I would have thought after 30+ years of gigging they would have been tight and professional but today they weren't. There was long periods of silence where nobody knew what to do etc. So I was a little disappointed. Michaels brother and the Scorpions were fantastic. I can't beleive having seen most 80's rock groups how this band slipped through the net. I will try to see them again. They made up for everything, the rain, the mud, the levellers... everything.

Okay Okay the bikes....wow.

Below is the prize giving.

I've got have a moan about these two selfish sod's (below). We all sat patiently waiting for the custom show to start, for more than hour. We had got good view points and when it started these two official photographers came and stood in the middle blocking everyone else from getting good photo's When asked if they'd move they just ignored us the paying public. Well I hope your camera lens's rot and falls off.

The weather did seem to hit Rock and Blues bad, even though Friday and Saturday were dry and sunny below are a couple of picture of how empty it was.

Or could it have been everyone heard Darth Vader and his me would be here?

Below are picture of you guys and your bikes.

So I guess to some up the 2007 Rock and Blues...no matter how bad the weather or the fact I had to endure another year with the levellers it was great, the Outlaws did a top job in keeping the show on. It's a shame the public didn't reward them by turning up but those of who did had a great time. The Scorpions wow you guy's ROCK! And the bikes were as good if not better than ever.
