The Location: - Pentrich Showground, Pentrich, Nr Ripley, Derbyshire.
The Organisers: - Outlaws MC Derbyshire Chapter.
Okay last year was cancelled I lost my ticket money and said I'd never come here again unless I was given free tickets to the next event. I was and I did. I take my hat off to the Outlaws this event was always going to difficult many people would boycott it but they still put on a great show. In the photo's to follow you'll see how empty the venue was how few bikes turned up but it was still a great weekend.
The pictures above show the bike field, the event was swamped with festival goer's who were parked (Cars Van's and campers) in another field. I have to say this trend of no bikers going to bike event's is a trend I'm not sure about. I'm sure the organisers reap the rewards but these are bike events for bikers so come on guy's get on your bikes and help keep these events alive and ours before they all become festival for wellie wearing trendies don't know a cam from a friggin' sprocket.
Me and Sandra having fun :-)
On to the show...
Still an amazing display of bikes don't you think.
We had viewed the bikes and then drank a little...ah hum... too much and went back to the tent. We we're asleep out side in the sun (yes the Outlaws once again made a pack with the devil to give us a great weekends weather) when an Outlaw woke me up and asked was the 13 mine I told him it was and he asked a few questions about it and asked why I didn't enter it into the show? To cut a long story short he and Sandra convinced me to show it. Enter the late entant...
It quickly got noticed and seemed to grab the attention of judges and public.
Then fook me it won best classic. Awesome
The Bands were from my youth Wolfsbane with the charismatic Blaze Bayley and Quireboys. I have to say Wolfsbane truly rocked but Quireboys shocked me I think last time I saw them was in a small rock joint either in Notts or Brum and they didn't leave much of an impression however they were fantastic and I would make a point to go see them again. Since this show I have been to see Blaze and his band at Nottingham Rock City and they kicked ass!
Was never really sure what this was about but nurses in PVC can't be a bad thing.
A massive thank you to the Outlaws for restoring my faith with the free entry and for putting on a great show despite the hurdles they had to overcome. 2010 I'll be there and I hope the rest of the biking world will support you too. It's a bike show, lets out number the festival goers.
