  Whiplash is a Top Fuel Supertwin drag bike based around a Yamaha XS650 motor. The owner/rider is "Rush" who provided all the technical information about the bike. The pictures we see here show "The Whip" minus its wheelie bars 'coz they were in the workshop at the time of shoot.

The Whip runs in the Top Fuel class which is the quickest class, the fuel being Nitro methane and methanol.

Think about this... the fuel costs £30 per gallon the bike uses two gallons per mile. Wow my 13 is more economical than this. I thought XS650's where a commuter machine!

Performance details.

Whiplash's best time so far 9.4 seconds with a terminal speed of 150mph. Which makes it the fastest XS in the world.

I quizzed Rush about what does 2002 hold. But he was modest and really down played any attempts I made to get him to say he'd win the championship running at low 8's.

I believe having followed this bike for a number of years that Rush and the Whiplash will be into the 8's for 2002.

Whiplash is continually evolving. Always searching for maximum power. On a minimum budget.
